The Swiss set of four stamps for a mere $ 2500 or the (bargain!) buy it now price of $17.777,43 made me laugh so hard it scared my cat away...

But kidding aside, is this guy for real? I mean, if he was trying to con collectors I'd think he would do a better job. The Swiss lot is my best evidence for that, I can't imagine ANYONE bidding on that...

Thank goodness for this website. I was just about to place a bid then I read this tread. That was a close one.
Maybe his wife is at him to sell his collection and if he puts a high price nobody's going to buy it. That's what I did when she wanted to have me sell our sailboat I place a asking price 3 times what it was worth, And I still have the boat and wife.

I actually contacted the seller. Read my unedited correspondence with this nut. Too funny!

Quote:
Dear benhayworth,

Are you a nut or something? Trying to sell cheap junk worth pennies for real bucks. Or a crook trying to fleece the unwary?

By reading his response, it would seem that some one else contacted him, as he referred to "those blogs"

what blogs?

I respond
Quote:
Dear benhayworth,

Not sure what you mean "what blogs", but www.stampcomunity.org has a section devoted to you. Not flattering to say the least!

Actually Benhayworth has been a favorite chew toy for collectors on another Stamp site and he has been contacted about his ridiculous auctions many times. He's just a kook trying to find some chump to give him Hundreds of Dollars for a 30cent stamp.

My two cents is that this does not to be here and can go back under the rock from whence it came.

He went from having no audience for his drivel to feeding the Googlemonster with it.

Again, just my two cents.

I want some of whatever he is smoking! It must be good stuff.
Seriously, is there any way to get him banned from ebay? I fear that he will lure some unsuspecting bidder into buying one of his items one day.
