Hi again,

I will try to get my entire Jenny collection on here for you all to see. It is really quite impressive what this gentleman put together. Looking at some figures he had written behind the sleeve and now knowing what the market was in the 70's, I find it hard to believe he even kept these.

The C2 has XF/superb centering so you can throw out the catalogue on that one.

Catalogue value for a hinged margin block of 4 with arrow is $330.

I would value it at twice that based on centering, but the market is a little weak right now.

These clearly were an investment by your relative. He likely held on to them with the hope that the market would regain its former glory.

Thank you for sharing!

Brian

Thanks Everyone, this is all great stuff! I have a question regarding the block of 12 C3. Does the plane being out of register effect the value negatively? If you can see it, the wing tip is improperly registered and is printing over the red. You can also see it on the register mark.

Jeesh! You could fully stock an airport with all those Jenny's! Beautiful and couldn't ask for better centering on most of those! Congrats to you.

On bi-colored stamps like this, the image on the inside is called a vignette ... in this case, the Jenny bi-plane.

The off-centered plane(s) will not have much of an impact on the value. The planes on your block would be described as "slow planes".

If the vignette was REALLY off-center, the stamp might actually attract specialists and potentially be worth more. But it's a niche market, and vignette centering on the C3 is of little consequence.
