All,

I came across what I think is an interesting "Celebrate" stamp on cover.
To me, it looks like the stamp may have been doing a little too much "celebrating"! Just thought I'd share it...

Edit 7 Nov, 2013: In the scans below, I mis-identify a feature. What I have labeled "Thimble" I should have called "Knoll".

Also thought I'd post some examples of the recent Lady Liberty and Flag stamps showing some of the different die cut variations that are out there. As you'll see in the pics, I'm missing a specimen of the Lady Liberty with "Bell" on the bottom. Not all "Bell" die cuts are as extreme as the ones shown in the pics. Hope these are helpful...

Kind Regards,

Dave N.

Here's a Scott 4491 I just received in the mail today. I thought the top right perforation die cut was a bit interesting. It doesn't appear to match the ones that you have scanned (or does it?):

Hi Wt1,

I'm afraid that your stamp looks normal to me. It looks like the top straight edge was just cut at that particular point on the peak of the right side. I see examples where the top/bottom edge cuts end up at
many different points along the peaks/valleys. Maybe someone could post a scan showing a variety of top cut locations in relation to the peaks/valleys? The "Bell" varieties are just an exaggerated example where the top cut is way beyond what should have been the top peak/valley.

Last night I added a couple covers with "Bell" die cut varieties to my giveaway in the giveaway section.

Looks like that Celebrate stamp should come with 3D glasses.

Those perf or die-cut differences are really neat.

1988 Pheasant variety, red removed from sky, Sc 2283b, blurry image (I kept checking my software and scanner).
Similar perhaps to the Canada 2004-now Lowe-Martin (printers) Flower and Olympic die-cut varieties (ski slope, etc)

I also found a Celebrate Stamp (US Scott 4502) that could use some 3D glasses. Pretty neat effect, as it turns out. (Left is Normal)
