Came across this Ifni cover in a box of stamp stuff that I am gradually going through

What makes it interesting for me is the cancel - the date appears to be a little bit strange


FYI Ifni was a Spanish province on the Atlantic coast of Morocco - it was ceded to Spain by Morocco in 1860 and eventually returned back to it in 1969 - Its main town was Sidi Ifni

Regards the date, perhaps it is just a simple mistake of having the wrong number dialed up or inserted on the date plug. When upside down and in a rush the 6 looks like a 9.

I like these animal stamps series from Ifni myself. Wish someone had had the aforethought to use more of them and thus make more available for when I wanted to collect them used, rather than mint.
