I know this stamp isn't in the greatest of shape but I was wondering if anyone could help me with some information about the cancel on this stamp.

1982 Chicago, (late use) probably a parcel package. That's all I know. I am sure someone else will be able to add to this (or correct me)

The 1982 is not a date... it is the number in the handstamp canceller that can identify the postal clerk.

that would make a whole lot more sense than someone using that stamp in 1982!
