From Wet Brisbane, Australia

I've already received some welcome help from members and now I've found this forum. So I'd better introduce myself. I'm a retired Australian who is shedding possessions ready to join the increasing number of Aussies becoming 'grey nomads'. In a few weeks I'll take possession of my new Chevvy Silverado and a month after that my 5th Wheeler. Then my wife and I will spend a few years travelling Australia. My superannuation doesn't deserve the word 'super' being in it, so we'll be working here and there, but I believe this adds to the enjoyment. I also want to fossick for prescious stones, pan for gold and dig for fossils. I'm also an author of three books published in Australia and the first now published in Canada with the second on its way (soon, I hope) So I'll be writing as well.

But I also want to complete a project I started a few months ago. I have a large number of spare stamps and I want to convert them into 'wanted' stamps to fill spaces in three identical albums of Australian stamps I'm building for my three children.

I have relatives in UK and the Isle of Man, so I have a few interesting stamps from those places. I also worked for many years in Papua New Guinea, so I have stamps from there (mainly 1970's). And of course, Australia. My family laugh at me - I never throw a stamp away. So my spares aren't usually of high value but there are many years included.

So, that's me. I've already seen the great help I can get here and hope I can be of help to others.

I will have internet, sfgoda. At the moment I'm using nodemobile, a mobile internet system not using the home telephone landline. It's not as efficient but it's the best we can do for the future. And if it works - that's all I need. So I'm looking forward to about five minutes housework a day and the rest of the time available for writing, stamp collecting - sounds tempting, doesn't it?
