As stated above, your scan is a box cancel and not a precancel. Sometimes it is very confusing to tell some of them apart. Nevertheless, even the box cancels can be fun to collect.
It's amazing just how many of those box cancels were used back in the day. Here are three examples that I put in a "mini collection" of just these sort of things. They were often applied to parcels, which is why you tend to see them on the higher value stamps:
