I have some U.S. Postal Service Special Mint Stamp Albums. They are complete sets of Stamps issued by the P.O. for that year. Mine are from late 60's to early 70's. What I am wondering is if they are worth any more in the set than the value of the stamps themselves?

Most of these I believe you are talking about are the year sets.
Pretty much thy are worth face value.

I know you paid a lot of money for the Mint Stamp Albums, but the stamps are only face value.
