Hello,
My name is Drewbythestampguy, Drewby or even call me Drew. I have been collecting for about three to four years. What I have learned so far is that I am a young stamp collector, 16 years old, but in my opinion that's a good thing since I can hopefully encourage new people to collect Stamps. I also have my own blog about stamp collecting which this post won't go into detail. Most importantly I came here to share my knowledge and learn from some of the community experts. Hopefully I can help to see this community of stamp collectors flourish.

Hello Drewbythestampguy (Drew), welcome!

Always good to have a social type of person collect stamps as a lot of stamp collectors are introverted a bit.

I have found that meeting other stamp collectors and helping out at shows and meetings is a great way to feel good by doing good and to make friends and learn a lot about stamps and how the whole stamp collecting thing thing works.

What's your blog's name or words that I can Google to find it since you are not allowed to post links to anything right away (50 posts / 2 weeks)?

Social media is such a powerful tool now and a lot of us (including me too probably) don't realize how much good can be done by it.

Well, just look at this forum for example. What a great place to share ideas, safely ask questions and post pictures and show our work. Amazing really. Where will it go next?

And collectors always collect, that's a given. Whether they have been exposed to stamps (probably less nowadays) or some other collectible, they find a combination of satisfaction, peace, calm, completing something, the excitement of the hunt and acquiring what you have worked for and usually a community of other collectors who are experiencing some of the same feelings and interests.
