German Stamp

Hi guys. New to this forum plus looking for some help. Last night I found this stamp in some old German stamps that I acquired years ago and never got around to. US is my main interest so I never paid much attention to but if I'm right this stamp could have significant value I hope. I had it as a scott# 39 but changed it to 50. Am I right?

Welcome to the forum. You can't tell much from the scan of your stamp....very unclear. Also, you need to post your stamp questions in the proper place on this forum. Where you are now is for introductions.

I am a new member and am starting to sort out my German stamps. I am only interested in pre 1940 stamps. Since my catalogue list different numbers for the same stamp design according to different water marks, it seems to me a daunting task to check each stamp for its watermark. Any advice, do collectors just ignore watermarks, or do they just bite the bullet and check each stamp? Your advice can be very helpful, thank you.

Its NOT a regular German stamp but one from a German State '' Southern District ''. Could be one of 5. You would need to identify it. We cant with your scan that is not verry good... Looks yellow but good be bistre ??

I think I have an idea what it is, it is a thurn and taxis sounther districs 9kr yellow if it in mint not used the cat value is 600.00 dollars, if is mint used it is 125.00 dollars
