Guys, could this have been a bisect stamp. This half piece of stamp was in my dad's collection.Looking at the postmark where normaly cancellation mark falls half or 2/3 on the stamp and the rest on the cover or envelope,as is the case in this stamp.Based on that I am wondering if this is a bisect stamp. I am not concluding but assuming only.Leaving it to the experts to judge. Probably if the stamps origin and issue year can be discovered than we could be more conclusive I guess. Any help will be appreciated.Thanks.

There's no way to ever know for certain. Without it being tied to an actual envelope, it's just another torn stamp.

Removing a bisect stamp from its cover renders the stamp valueless since there is no way to prove that it is not simply a whole stamp cut so as to appear as a bisect.

According to Stanley Gibbons Simplified, this (whole) stamp is Djibouti SG94 10c green & brown, issued 1894 imperf.
