Help Me Out With This Stamp

Help me identify the year of issue of this stamp, guys.Have been trying to trace it thru the net but to no avail. Thanks

hey Selva it looks like a SG87 which is from a 1901 Chile stamp issue

Hopefully someone else will chime in to confirm, but I think you have a Scott #51 from the 1901-02 series, featuring the portrait of Columbus.

My only reservation is that my old catalog suggests that the 1c variety is "green" in color, and the example in your scan looks more bluish to me (although the color could be skewed based on the scan).

Tks guys. The stamp is actually green and the colour off set is caused due to the brightness of my camera shot. Am not using a scan but a extended camera connected to my laptop.

I would agree with wt1 that this is a Scott #51, and we're looking at some major colour distortion. Notice how the white of the paper is decidedly pinkish in tone.

Just for fun (??) I adjusted the colour balance in Photoshop to remove the pink from the white of the stamp. And behold, a much greener image. Of course I don't know what the original green looks like (this is still very bluish), and we take into consideration the vagaries of our scanners and monitors.
But here you have it.

WT1 is correct. "Scott #51 from the 1901-02 series, featuring the portrait of Columbus" It is Green in color. I was just looking at Chile stamps yesterday and cataloged this particular one. Here is a picture of mine.
