People seem not to like dealers, but for the time spent and the gas burned chasing down new issues as they emerge, it might be worth paying someone a little more for putting up with the hassle AND THE ADDED EXPENSE for you. Just a thought.
I'm always more than happy to pay a lttle more for an item that I can see and touch before I buy. Having been a small business owner for awhile, I also understand that these guys are a dying breed and need to make a profit to stay in business. If we don't support storefront and bourse dealers, they will disappear. They might anyway.
Thanks again for all the great info and advice! I will call and check out that Philatelic Center, as well as go to the stamp show one of these days. It also sounds like I should really join a club. That looks like one in Simi Valley that I'll check into. I like the idea of a stamp swap... Invariably I end up with dupes as well as small gaps in my collection...
