I am entering my collection into a computer database, but the software I have does not always have the image of the stamp I'm inputting.
I have had some success with Google searches, but even that does not always give me what I'm looking for.
Can anyone suggest a website or other online place where I can get a more complete listing of pictures of all the varieties of stamps.
For example, I have the image of scott # 1050, but even with a google search, I can't find a picture of 1050a.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Regards,
Steven Schuyler Berkeley, CA USA

I think you'll be hard pressed to find on-line images of certain stamp varieties such as 1050 and 1050a (wet v. dry printing) as even digital photography would have a hard time capturing such subtle differences within a reasonably file size image (as everyone's monitor/screen is slightly different). For standard US stamps, here's the best resource I've come across. Simply enter the desired Scott # before the ".jpg" and you'll have an image of the desired US stamps: http://www.mysticstamp.com/pictures/stamps/1.jpg |

Quote: scan your own Sometimes libraries have scanners (mine does) available. Check ebay also or Delcampe or Bidstart or perhaps go deeper and check out some of the auction house's sites too. They might not all show up on a Google search. |

I built my own database (MS Access), entered the stamp descriptions/characteristics from the Scott Specialized and am now entering images. I've found almost everything I've needed on ebay so far (I started with Scott 230 and I'm up to Scott 1415). If you can't find an image that you like, try again in a few weeks; all the listings will be different. |

Images you yank off the Internet may be copyrighted. If it's for personal use, you should be fine, but if you think you're going to possibly give the database to someone else to use, then you might want to check the metadata of the image file and make sure it's all blanked out. |

There are really nice images of US stamps at the Smithsonian's Arago website.

I funded the purchase of a software package called Stamp Manage by selling off some of my mint dupes. It saved me a lot of time and effort of finding images. This software comes with images of almost all stamps - and not just US. It should, clocking in at about 1.5GB!
Worth considering, believe me!

Thanks, Marios. Let me know if this product can import data from StampManage. I'll try your demo, and if it's easier for me, and the ability to port-over my data is simple, I may consider EZStamp.
