Received a nice surprise in the mail late this afternoon. It is from a dealer who will be attending our show on August 18th up here in Bracebridge. He used a $2.00 Diamond Jubilee stamp and it is nicely cancelled and it is a corner copy too. Chimo Bujutsu

I search the internet and couldn't find that stamp. It's a 2$ stamp like there has been before. But it's surprising when you never seen before. Who knows what is beautiful in the eyes of a stamp collector. Daniel |

On ebay, search for 'canada 2012 jubilee'. I am displeased with Her Majesty's more recent portrayal on this stamp myself. Perhaps in person it would look better. Nice mailing reception Bujutsu! |

It's all in your attitude at the time and the engraver's attitude also I would imagine. Her Majesty has a great attitude I think. We have stamps out recently that have a much better portrayal. |

I agree with you Puzzler. The engraver could have been more realistic instead of high-lighting the wrinkles and adding 15 pounds (Whoops I mean 6.8 kilo). He did a much better job on the younger Queen |

And I thought it was just me. I don't think the two portraits go together. It is not a matter of one being of the young queen and the other the older queen. The older portrait is just not of the same quality as the younger. It is difficult to put into words the difference, but that difference is there. |

That's my favourite of all the new jubilees. I may have to get myself one, even though I don't collect much of the 'new' stuff. Appearently that's the exact same purple used on the 1897 Victoria $2 jubilee. |

It's the Wilding portrait in the first oval. Souvenir sheet is nice. Can't find a 4c purple stamp when you need one. |

Interesting postings here.
Thanks all for sharing. I will have to make it a point to get some of the $2.00 DJ stamps. I just heard that the local PO here does have some in stock.
