I am working on the third Reich "Hitler heads" and noticed this oddity. What do you think? (If I posted this already please let me know I get confused sometimes...lol)

Notice the blotch in the bottom loop of the upper left 8 on the right stamp. You will notice what I mean.

Also I just noticed the same type of anomaly in the "D" in "DEUTSCHES" at the bottom of the same stamp. Any thoughts?

The chin on the stamp on the right seems a little darker than usual too.

Flyspecking at it's finest eh?...

Do you suppose it's just a case of under inking? There is nothing in the Michel Germany Specialized lists only one variety of the 8pf on laid paper. Weird if nothing else?

During World War II, the Americans counterfeited the 6 pfg violet and 12 pfg carmine of the Hitler head issue, but there is no mention of the 8 pfg. The 6 and 12 are listed under Kriegspost- und Propagandafalschungen in the Michel specialized catalog.
