Hello,
I got this stamp and I have no clue what is this stamp and if it has some value. I couldn't find this stamp in any catalogue. I know what these words means - something about the fact the Germany got her areas back, this stamp is from the year 1929 after the first world war.
If anybody know anything about this stamp, please let me know.
Thank you very much! :)

Google Translate says the overprint says,
"Give Germany its colonies again"

Some sort of private propaganda overprint, possibly? I'm not sure.

It's Germany Scott #286. Quite common/minimal value - but at least interesting because of the inflationary period of the time (10 Million Marks!)

The Overprint makes it unique for sure (yes, definitely an overprint on top of a #286) but I'm not positive what it does for the exact value. I'd call it a keeper.

Here's a previous auction that went for 70.00 EUR

http://www.philasearch.com/en/i_912..._16_30..html

BUT, that was for a full page of around 30 different types of these in singles and pairs - So, I suppose your value question might be answered with 1?? or 2?? Euros, or so.

Just a guess, though.

This is 1 Stamp from a set and there were 2 sets .Michel 184, 186, 187 and 189 with the private printing of propaganda "without colonies Germany is not viable." and "Give Germany's colonies back".

Sorry for the scan quality, it's all I could dig up on short notice :)

*Edit* Sorry, forgot to mention that the sets go for around € 7-14.

I'm sure they pop up on ebay from time to time or try and find a Seller that concentrates on Germany. The photo above just shows the 2 sets of the Michel 184 ***** The sets were printed on most of the issues of that time frame.
