Hey everyone, I am new to this group.

My father passed away and we recently found a small collection of stamps. So far I have not been able to find out much information on them.

One of them is a stamp book from I believe 1966 that is blue in color on the cover and has "Dummy" across it. It has several blank inserts inside that have glue on them and are perfed.

If anyone could help me find out what I have and what it might be worth I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Bobby

The blank ones are probably what is referred to as "Test Stamps". If you can scan or take some good high resolution pictures and post them here, you will get some very knowledgeable help with identification and value.

Welcome to the forum Advantage

The best thing I can suggest for your collection is to go to your local library and look up a set of either Scotts or Stanley Gibbons catalogues.

That will give you some idea about their value.

Is there a pic of the front of the ones I see perforated? Or am I missing something?

They are blanks. There is nothing printed on the front, but they do have the glue on the back. I have found several for sale on ebay, but the prices vary from $10.00 to $399.00 a piece. Trying to figure out how rare they are, and what would cause the price to vary so drastically. All I have found so far is they are called something like "Dummy Stamps".

Thanks for looking.

Pretty interesting item. Scott's does not list the "Dummy" Booklet and the booklets are from 1963-1964. They list the booklets with "Slogans 1,2, or 3" and range in value from $10 - $240.00 catalog value. I'm not sure what the retail value would be but it sure is interesting. I'll do some mor checking.

Scott # BK110 - BK115 ?

Try TDB12a. That is what several of the ebay auctions list. I do not know what that number means.

Thanks for the help.

Ahhh...I'm in the wrong section. TDB12A is listed "with different inside front cover" $15.00. The inscription "Inside front cover reading "Minute Man Buy - Hold US Savings Bonds. and has 4 silicone interleaves. Still a unique item anyways.

Cool, does it say how many were made, or how much it should be worth? Mine is in mint/VF condition.

The catalog value is $15.00, so figure around 30% - 35% of that.
