This is a nicely written article from a Campus Spotlight, by Michael Kearl, Professor and Chair of Sociology and Anthropology at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, USA.

http://www.trinity.edu/departments/...latelist.htm

First paragraph from the article:

Quote:
I am a philatelist. It is a confession that I make on first days of classes. With the announcement, students share stares and shift uneasily in their seats. This reinforces me to share the fact that I am registered with authorities (my dues are paid to the First Day Cover society) â€" partially in hopes that some parent will receive the news, become irate, and communicate his or her discontent to my University’s administration that such predators should never be allowed in the classroom.

Quite enjoyable.

I hope they never get a search warrant for my place - they'll find all the proof they could ever want.

Oh no - only having some good-natured word play on the article where the author admits to his class about being "a philatelist".

Sounds a bit scary to someone who has no idea what the word means. ("Keep your kids away from him - I heard somewhere that he's a philatelist")

Here's my contribution to this:

@klange: I agree that they will find lots of proof! Not to mention the freaks and perfins I have hidden behind the grill in the basement. I also have well preserved specimens of some past presidents, royals, dignitaries and heads of state.

I am a card holding philatelist...if my wife tells me I am going to a concert or a fireworks display I usually end up enjoying it..but left to my own devices there are always stamps or covers to sort !!

Evidence that I am a philatelist? I am afraid almost everyone who knows me knows I collect stamps.

Oh No, now I'm worried,
if they ever fingerprint me, they're going to find gum.
May be time to start wearing rubber gloves.
