I also like revenues. I have a few of the playing card stamps also. They are some of my favorite revenues.

I find interesting all the different areas they produced revenue stamps for.

I agree, Dianne. There are revenues for just about everything from beer and wines, cigarettes, to "fermented fruit juice", and I found this one amazing "the 1935 POTATO TAX STAMPS Act"! Potato growers exceeding their allotments would have paid for the excess in Tax paid potato stamps--this was deemed unconstitutional in 1936. I thought it was a high rate at 3/4 cent per pound! These tax paid stamps were never used due to the Act's short life. Anyone have any??
Thanks!

Cool.
The one on the lower right....
I just found some of those in Dad's stamps
this past weekend. Are your stamps different
because they are from different times, or is
there another reason for the different designs?

The use of a seperate series of Playing Card Stamps started in 1894 and ran until 1965. A complete collection of the Company Precan. stamps numbers about 50. They are listed in the USPCC Catalog. Some are quite difficult to find. I am missing 3. If any one wants some of these drop me a line and I'll send you a few examples.

A very nice offer, Revstampman. Do you only collect American revenues? I've a few Canadian revenues to trade for the larger-sized American playing Card revenue stamps.
