Hi all! My name is Pasha, I am a Russian-American guy originally from Minsk, USSR (now Minsk, Belarus). I've been living in St. Louis since 1991.

I've been collecting stamps (intermittently) in 1979-1989, then tried resurrecting my old hobby in 1994 (but then lost interest again), and finally started again in the end of 2006... and never stopped since. :-)

I have several topical collecting interests, and they are all sports-related: Olympic Games, Soccer, Ice Hockey and Chess.

Thanks everyone!

I do have certain restrictions. Collecting all of the Olympic stamps ever issued would certainly be an impossible task. :-) So for Summer Olympics I have the following collecting criteria:

1.The stamps issued by host countries
2.The stamps with Olympic medalists issued by these medalists' own countries
3.The stamps with Olympic soccer issued by actual participants in Olympic soccer tournaments

Thus, so far I got all of the UK stamps for London'12, but there will obviously be more issued, including stamps with all the UK Olympic champions. The only Olympic soccer stamps I got so far are UK and Uruguay, and I haven't seen any others issued by actual participants. As to the medalists... well, there haven't been any yet. :-)

Hi Pasha

Welcome to SC too - I see that you left Belarus in 1991 - a lot was "going on" then in Soviet Union!

I mainly collect Russian stamps from Russian Empire to end of 1991 (end of USSR), but also from Canada (ex Father's collection to 2000 when he had a stroke - I've much improved the collection, especially early Queen Victoria era), Newfoundland, Romania, GB (mostly fine used to 1952) and Ottoman Turkey (can't quite remember why I chose that last country and period!?).

Happy collecting!
