I just watched a circus movie last night so please excuse the titling.

Here are two USA Tom Sawyer stamps (painting the fence and pretending to get great value from it to lure in his friends to paint for him).

The facess and feet have shifted noticeably sideways, so as to blur the features. I realize this and many other stamps of the period will have this mis-registration of various colours to some degree or another.

Tom wasn't always shifty -- Huck Finn must have been a bad influence on him.

I've got 11 of these in my duplicates file and 5 of them were misregistered.

Are these Tom Sawyer shift errors listed? What are they worth?

Shifts are never listed by Scott.

This issue is famous for shifts and you can find them from minor to dramatic (bigger shifts than in the first image.
