PanAm on cover with contents, dealer bargain box last weekend. I was attracted to the stamp placement as well as the contents.I do like early commemoratives on cover, so It's worth a buck to me even though I don't collect covers. Not even if I bought twenty of them, really... I don't.

The name, the reference to stock yards, and the postmark from Whitney Point, NY, all bring together the scanned cover, as noted in this biography of the addressee, one Willis O. Newcomb:

The Pan-Am is one of my favorite series. The design for the 2 cent was the Empire State Express engine 999 from a photograph by A. P. Yates taken May 10, 1893 during the world record speed run of 112.5 mph.
