A search for 1888 Japan Cover will bring it up, for those who want to watch or bid (hint, hint).

Well, my hubby and daughter are no longer scoffing at my little 'bits of paper' - the winning bid on auction for this cover came in for a very sweet $360 USD. No complaints here at all. The winner is in Japan, but there were several North American bidders in the mix as well. Note to self: think long and hard before soaking ANYTHING off a cover!

I just saw that final bid on the listing. Congratulations, Mary!

And I've definitely got to go back through my boxes of Japanese covers and see what's there! I've sometimes thought that high realizations on ebay only come from sellers who have a lot of followers, but it looks like that doesn't have to be the case.

Again, congratulations! Thrilled for you!

By the way, your images for the listing were very nice. At what dpi did you scan the images?

Thanks, Dave! I'm pretty sure those were scanned at 600 dpi and then cropped down, but not resized. Funny thing about followers on ebay - one of the bidders was a guy who had bought from me before but he wasn't the final winner. I have had a lot of repeat bidders in other non-stamp auctions, so it does pay to cultivate your buyers.
