I have been trying to find out mare about this stamp and cant find anything with the strange cuts on the sides. Can anyone help??

What you have scanned is called a "Schermack" coil. They are usually found in the Scott's U.S. Specialized Catalogue.

Thank You. I just got a HUGE collection of stamps from a family member and I dont own ant catalog to identify them. Any idea if it is worth anything or rare?
