You have heard of the stamps you can make in your own image? And it might be fun to get cancelled from all over the world; like have penpals drop your postcard in the mail from their location and so your custom stamp gets that postmark.

I don't think most countries would like you using another countries stamps. Although it has been known for them to sneak through the system.

As long as the postcard is also correctly franked with stamps which are valid in the originating country, I think most of them will go through without a problem.

I have purchased a few panes of personalized postage over the last couple of years. One is our wedding party, my 3 dogs, the birth of my son. I have also given a few as gifts: my grandparents portrait for their 50th anniversary and one to my sister in law for her wedding. Both of those we gave framed and they loved them.

I'm sure my ex-wife has cancelled my face on numerous pictures already, so I don't think I n eed any further defacement.

It is a good idea, though.

I'm going to get my grandkids on stamps for Christmas this year. I thought it might be a present for them.
