My latest purchase arrived and I couldn't be happier The size of this straddle margin copy of #114 is absolutely, preposterously massive to see in person. I way over paid for it but I would do it again in a second it's such an amazing example. It makes my #1 look tinyand complement my #116.

Okay, that is just beautiful! Me want!! Does that count as a double straddle margin, or just exceptional centering?

i wouldn't say the centering is that good.
the top margin is cut into.
this stamp still only qualifies as a VG condition stamp. Sorry... but that is how they are graded.

I think your 116 is much better.

It's difficult to find any of the #114 or #116 centered as good as my 116.
Don't know why your apologizing.

The 116 is one of the best centered stamps I have seen from this issue.

It's a long stamp- the centering on the top and bottom are bad, but I still think it looks great. The 116 is well centered with even margins, but it doesn't jump out at you quite as much.

color isn't a good indicator. If you dip it, it would show if it was cleaned.

if it was pen canceled, which is usally the case, on the back you should see old pen marks, they would affect the back of the paper.

If nothing shows then send it to someone like Bill Weiss for a cert.
