US troops in Siberia! A little fact that I never knew was that President Wilson sent troops to Russia during WWI. These troops were sent for various reasons such as protecting US Supplies sent to Russia after the civil war started in Russia. Some of these troops even engaged the Russians (Bolsheviks) in battle.

The history search all started with these stamps. The caption said these were issued to the troops in Siberia.

The only real difference was they were issued in a pane of 30 placed in booklets for use by troops in Siberia.

Are there any covers with proper usage of the stamps from Siberia? I think, but I may be wrong that a cancellation is illustrated in the Scott Specialized catalogue.

I recently got a Shanghai overprint in mint condition. Used with a contemporary cancellation is more expensive and I imagine a cover with proper usage would be rather pricey. Doesn't is just blow your mind to think of these periods in history and the people who were there.

I have a book with a picture of WW I troops in Vladivostok, Russia and wonder if any letters were posted from there. It is hard to imagine that someone did not mail a letter or card "back home".

I must say that I have learned more History and Geography since I have started collecting about 8 months ago then I learned during my whole school carrier. I think stamp collecting should be used in school as a teaching aid.
