Hi Dan.......

Cancels are more often circular dials with a date and place of mailing. Killers are commonly refered to fancy cancels are avidly collected by many and some can command very high values compared to the stamps they are generally found on. Even badly damaged stamps with a large US can be interesting to watch in auctions. Below are a few pages from my Billig's Handbook to give you an idea of some of what is available to collectors.

Swabbie.....

It's not a catalog....more of a reference book. There are about 40 in his series. I have #33.

So it could be something such as cancel 1028, above, that hit ratio411's black jack in his closing Mystic account thread, here, and left the pentagram.

Hi Folks.....

There are about 40 Billig's handbooks and they average about 225 pages. I've seen them selling anywhere from $25.00 to over $60.00 for some depending on condition and subject.

Now if we can only get him to copy the full book. I just might have to look for this book, it looks interesting.
