Can I guess? Maybe University of Michigan or Missouri or Mississippi or Massachusetts or Montana or Minnesota or Maine or Maryland. Whew, I think these are all of the "M" states. |

Need a Perfin Cat to know for sure. But the University of Minnesota was the largest single University campus in the country at one point! |

If this checklist excerpt is any help, it's either University of Michigan or University of Minnesota, both having used perfins during a similar period when this stamp would have been in use. I don't have a catalog to know the difference between Perfin U55.5 and U56, which would be key to identifying the specific perfin you have scanned. Either one is rated as rarity factor "F", which means they are very common. [edit] Definitely University of Michigan based on this cover example taken from an internet web search: The University of Minnesota has a completely different perfin, as per the examples shown at this link: https://goscf.com/t/12149 |

Hold everything. Those two covers with single or dual-use Presidentials (especially the 30c + 10c) might bring a significant amount from one of the Prexy postal-history collectors, worth far more than as perfins. |

Indeed! As I mentioned in my earlier thread, that is not my cover but was taken from Jim Forte's Postal History Web Site in order to identify the correct perfin for the University of Michigan. His website is currently selling the cover shown for $20! |
