Would you really confuse an upside down 1c stamp for a 10c stamp?

Apparently, the US Postal Service did and to insure that they did not lose any more revenue by the mistake, they "quietly" changed the designs so that all stamps below 9 cents in value would never carry a zero in front of it.
I found this old news story from 1995 about the situation and since I don't recall hearing about it before (maybe I forgot about it) I thought I'd share it again. An interesting piece of modern postal history that is often forgotten about:

But then again, if someone were stupid enough to mistake those stamps for a 1c stamp, the consumer would be the loser, not the US Postal Service.
