Hi! this is my first post! (not including my introduction post).

Can anyone help me determine how rare this 2c Washington error is?
Thanks in advance!

ebay has a single listed for $26: http://www.ebay.com/itm/US-Sc-634-M...em19bd842a62 A nice block of 4 should bring a premium.

Thanks Stampcoder! I inherited a large collection from my Father and this was in it. I appreciate any help to determine the value. It has not been stuck but appears to have been hinged at one point, and has some very small writing on the back in pencil, about 5 or 6 characters. It is in very good condition as you can see in the picture.

Nice perforation shift. Assuming it is #634 in the Scott catalog, the misperf is not rare, but hardly a common item. Given time to sell, it would probably retail for $25-$50, assuming you could find the right EFO collector.

It looks like there is some hinge remnant. If so, do NOT remove the hinge on back. It looks like there is not only a fold of the middle horizontal perforations, but that there are also some perf separations -- especially near the right side.

Thanks khj! I don't think there is any hinge remnant, I think it may be some glue residue from the hinge. But I will NOT do anything to the stamp, that is for sure!!

Why the heck would someone ever attach a hinge to a stamp? I guess it was back in the day before mounts?

Because when you use a stapler, you often have to remove the page first.

I'd wait till that ebay item sells before declaring that to be its 'value'. You and the seller might have some years to wait.
