i would like to see if either of these stamps could be called dark brown in color.
colors seem to cause me many problems.
my eyes have never been the best and age has not helped me.

Ouch my eyes must be going bad. Just joking but to tell the truth it is hard for me to gauge color even with a good scan. I guess a good color gauge would come in handy for this one. However there are some ways to narrow it down. The #423 violet brown is per 12 single line watermark, #460 violet black is a per 10 double line watermark, #478 violet black is per 10 no watermark,#518 violet brown is perf 11 no watermark.
