Collectors usually describe that example as a "horseshoe" precancel. It may be pretty cheap in value according to the catalog, but try finding one (or finding someone wishing to sell one) and the price can go quite a bit higher.

Even though I don't collect precancels I've seen my fair share in 40 years of collecting. I can honestly say that is the first one I've seen of that type.

Not alot of years behind my collecting but I have viewed a heap load of and never seen thst one either. Seems like all oddities from revs, precancels, perfins ect... don't warrant realistic cataloging. Revs are moving up slowly but many others just get the general 20 cent nod. Great find and although centering is off looks like a nice stamp with super crisp cancel.

Price depends on supply and demand - supply is low, but demand - so far is lower - ergo cheap.
Here are mine from my postage due colletion - I would love to fill the remaining spaces.

I just searched ebay and the only Cincinnati in this style is a 1 cent Washington Franklin on a post card at a BIN price of 24.99.

Knew I'd seen this design before and a google search brought me right back here LOL

Just found this one in a lot of Wash/Franks I picked up on ebay last week
