Hello I am in the process of going through my collection trying to see what value I have. I have found most of my stamps, (I have a pile) are the run of mill, dime a dozen type. These seem to all have some value. I don't have the official Scott catalog I have a guide to U.S. Stamps published by the postal service. It is helpful, but confusing. Maybe somebody could give some opinion of these. Thanks!

Take a look at http://1847usa.com It has a lot of info on the different variations.

You can also find a nice catalog online at http://www.mysticstampcatalog.com/ The prices listed are on the high (very), but it'll also help identify your stamps.
