Help Needed On Used 606A Line Pair

It looks like the catalog value dropped significantly in 2010 as dealers and catalog editors began to see more and more 606a line pairs turn up.

My thought here (and most everyone who knows coil stamps at all knows that a line pair is much more valuable that a single) is that given the rarity of any used 606a, you may get more from 2 singles in this case. The rarity of the single may well over ride the line pair or be close enough that that 2 singles might well bring more cash that a line pair especially when there is a question about how much people may be willing to pay to begin with...
I may have not explained that well enough but its the best I can do right now with my limited time.

I only say that because I'm taking your motivations at face value. I'd hate to see you pass up a legitimately good offer for whatever this particular piece might bring, on the odd chance that it might be a lottery ticket.

If you are serious about monetizing this, I can't see how you can do anything but try to place it in an upcoming auction with a recognized house. Auctions have long been the method for selling less common material because you have no other reliable method for determining actual worth of a given item that doesn't have a ready market.

My pre-auction estimate of this item is rather lower than yours, but you can't know for sure without a serious test of the market. I hope you are right.

I would be interested to see a similar example as this where the stamp sold for short money...that wouldnt make any sense to me but what do I know...haha

am I losing my mind here or are you saying that there are also no copies of 606a NH either...One guy showed an auction that had 15 pairs? Why do I keep thinking that no one understands that my pair is used...?
I am more inclined to think that I am missing something than all you guys...What is going on here?

OK, I see, I came here to get help finding an example of a used 606a so that I could gauge a value from it.
When no one could find me an example I was ignorant enough to believe that a one of a kindish stamp was worth anything, how totally stupid of me...maybe we should shut this down so that you guys can help someone who can be helped...and doesnt think such ridiculous thoughts ???
