This guy issuarian is a perfect example of these bottom feeding
characters who only come on this site for info so they can peddle
their stuff which they grabbed in a garage sale or out of
the trash can.

When they get their grubby hands on stamps they see dollar bills
and when they find out that what they've got is basically worthless
they usually get upset like this guy issuarian.

I'm always surprised when forum members here go out of their way
and try to help these people who have no interest in stamp
collecting whatever and only want to make a killing on stamps
for which they paid next to nothing.
Why bother with these types at all?

One more thing which Mr issuarian did not mention or question
was the fact that the far out of usage date pictorial cancellation
on his precious 606a line pair should persuade any prospective
buyer with even limited philatelic knowledge to stay
away from this thing like it was the plague.

I 100% agree with nitro to have the mods change the thread title
back to the original and lock it.

Well in fairness, not all of them end up taking their ball and going home. I tried to point the OP to the completed listings page on ebay to show him other 606a stamps that went unsold with a price of $19.95, and they were also taking best offer. But when someone refuses to believe what reality is, you end up with this.

I have re-read the responses in this thread and they were all helpful and polite. Some people struggle with the difference between what they want to hear and what they need to hear.

Thankfully, this is a rare occurance here.

Funny thing is if my link is indeed his now single for $25000 he busted up a line coil pair, plus renedered the cert useless to even verify it is even the right color.
Have to admit I first came here with dillusions on a couple stamps but was also a tad bit interested in the hobby so here I reside.
For someone who is 2 months behind on mortgage and trying desperatly to find a sucker to pay him a small years wages is insane in my opinion. Wonder if I still have the original pic in my temp files to repost. I usually don't get upset about this stuff but wow.

Nitrolures, the stamp at your link wasn't issuarian's -- it is referenced in the description from his canceled ebay listing.

It is unfortunate that the original post and thread title have been deleted. For contextual reference, I've uploaded images of the line pair being discussed in this thread, along with the listing's description.

This is a used U.S. 606a coil joint line pair as shown. This joint line pair has been certified by PSE to be a 606a and to be sound. I have no knowledge of its value but the price for this JLP as NH is approx. $1,750 and there is no price listed for any 606a in Scotts.
I have searched fairly extensively and have not found a used copy of this stamp in any of the major auction houses or on the internet in general (aside from one person without a cert wanting $25,000 for a single...Stampasia?). ...I dont think so... I dont know what to think about this one. I did find a few copies of the vertical equivalent, 599b (I believe it to be) but I am not so sure these copies were joint line pairs either and the prices were very high in the couple high end auction houses where I saw them. I'm sorry, I wasnt really paying attention to those stamps as they were not the 606a I was looking for. PSE's population report showed only 1 used joint line pair and it was graded at a 20.
The real problem for me is that I have a stamp that Scott's didn't list a price for (I dont know all the reasons they might do that except for the lack of info due to rarity), PSE's SMQ didnt list a value for the stamp in used condition either, and they list a lot of prices for rare stuff and I couldn't find an example of a single sold copy (or any certified copy for that matter) within a solid hour of intense searching, thats a long time for an experienced person to search and find nothing.
The best way for me to agree to an offer you have (unless the offer is high enough to satisfy me) or if you would really just like to make my life easier, is to show me a legit example of a similar sale, even of a single which I can work a price from.
Let me know if you have any thoughts or questions. I will ship and insure the stamp and cert. by USPS express mail the same or next day for free in the U.S. I also have other stamps up now. Thanks for looking.

Please inquire about international shipping.

Not to be petty but how is his other listed items that are apparently certed so "valuable"?

Observe: Scott 1024 plate block - $149.00 Does that seem right?

EDIT:

Look at this block of C51 (for $159.00) and the one on the cert carefully...It's NOT even the same block as on the cert!

No, he is just a dreamer extraordinaire. Now you're starting to see why Issuarian listed the 606a used line pair for $25K. Moving forward please add the description 606a used line pair in your post to give this thread a strong google ranking.

Well this dreamer is using PSE certificates to try and peddle
stamps he found in a garage sale which for the most part are common
stamps worth maybe 60% of face value.

I get a laugh when I read what he says about breaking up the plate block and make more by selling them as singles.

Quote:
I think that people don't even know that graded plate blocks exist! At this price, even to break it up and re-grade the singles would make you some money and stamps of this grade will only increase in value and faster than most others. If you are wondering why I don't just keep them, it is simply that I need the cash now and don't have the choice, again, it will be regretted.

I guess he's read or heard about the story re breaking up
the inverted Jenny sheet for singles in order to make an easier sale.
He is a good example of a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.
This guy's a joke. I haven't laughed this much in a while.
