I picked up this cover at the Monthly show in Troy,New York today and the guy next to me tried to buy it from me for 5 bucks ! No way Jack, I did the work finding it ! Battlestamps and I finally met up at the show we both attend and had a nice chat !!

Burro stampede! What the heck are they doing down there in Texas? I really like it Philb! Always been partial to graphics like that on cover. Looks like a nice score!

I see what you mean Huckles...but I have seen worse..where a local letter will be addressed simply to Bill Smith , City in a fair sized town !!

I was marveling at that myself with other covers that only have a name on them for an address!? Makes you wonder how they even got there doesn't it?

I live in Houston and I am still waiting to see the Burro Stampede. The traditions have changed a lot since then. We still do the Houston Livestock Show & rodeo which is the huge.

It was a pleasure meeting you and your wife at the show Phil. It's always nice to meet a fellow philatelist and it's a rarity for me since I live in the boondocks. Nice find on the cover - reminds me of the Calagary Stampede covers from Canada. The show this month was a whole lot better than last month. Oddly enough after the show, my wife and I checked out the antique stores in Coxsackie and Ravenna. A find at Ravenna which I'll post later probably beats anything I found at the show.

Thanks Battlestamps its really a shame you are so far North..i would invite you to our stamp club meeting..we have one fellow who used to live in Woodstock but now lives in Albany...he comes to our meetings ..but he is the furthest away !
