Here's a better image of the 66-cent Wedding Cake Stamp that is now posted on the USPS Store's website. It will be issued on January 18, 2013 at Louisville, Kentucky:

What is particularly distressing for Press Sheet collectors is that these stamps will be available as Press Sheets with or without die cuts but in a 2 x 5 format, meaning that the retail price will be $132.00 each!

Quote:
Sure to add a touch of beauty and romance to wedding correspondence, the Wedding Cake stamp, first introduced in 2009, is a timeless addition to the U.S. Postal Service's Weddings series. Often the centerpiece of a wedding reception, the cake has been a wedding tradition for many generations.

This two-ounce stamp features a photograph of a three-tier wedding cake topped with white flowers, their green stems and leaves a delightful contrast to the cake's creamy white frosting.

Pastry chef Peter Brett created and designed the cake, which was photographed by Renée Comet. The stamp was designed by art director Ethel Kessler.

The Wedding Cake stamps are being reissued in self-adhesive sheets of 20 at the 66-cent rate, or $13.20 per sheet. The stamp is a perfect addition to a wedding invitation or other mailing such as oversize cards or small gifts that require extra postage.

Made in the USA.

Issue Date: January 18, 2013

HAGAR - nope, going strictly by the image... I don't cheat!

Being a railfan, I like this one, but it will be a bit pricey!

I'm visiting my family and was at their tiny little post office today. On the counter was a poster of upcoming stamps and pictured was the set of muscle cars. Not being a car fan, I can't remember a single car that was on there.

Has anyone else seen this poster? Why would they have it hanging in the post office but not announce it on the website?

I can run over tomorrow and take a picture if anyone really wants to see them!

Spanishmoss: I sure would like to see that poster! It was mentioned in an earlier post that the Muscle Cars of the '60s and '70s were to include the following, but everyone's still waiting to see the stamp designs:

1966 Pontiac GTO
1967 Shelby GT 500
1969 Dodge Charger
1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda
1970 Chevrolet Chevelle

I'm also getting a bit frustrated that the USPS 2013 Stamp Preview page has not been updated over the past few days and simply states "More to Come" but doesn't give anyone any idea as to when that "More to Come" will be announced.

WT1, the USPS web-staff was probably on vacation! ;-) As for the poster, I have not seen it yet myself. A lot of local ones still have last year's on the wall.

Interesting how the stamps call the makes out as Dodge, Pontiac, Plymouth, etc., but when it comes to the Chevelle, they don't say Chevrolet.

I saw that new issue poster! I didn't get a good look at it, though, as I was half out in the lobby, the line was so long. I ended up just leaving... but keep your eye out for that poster... goes up to the muscle cars...

It looks like Auto Week Magazine has seen the posters in the post offices, too based on this article:

Quote:
While the USPS confirmed that the stamps will arrive in February, they've withheld further comment pending the official unveiling.

Hmmm.... I don't collect the U.S. as a country, or cars as a theme, but as a Mustang owner (not a Shelby unfortunately) I kind of like this new issue.

I also like the upcoming "Modern Art in America, 1913 - 1931" issue, which features a personal favorite... Marcel Duchamp's Nude Descending a Staircase, No. 2.
