If they are unexamined since taken off the letters, there are surely some excellent varieties.
Obviously, it is impossible to tell if this is the case. You can suspect it but never know for sure.
The contrapositive is, if you check all 300000 carefully and find no worthwhile varieties, you can be sure that either: the lot had been checked some time in the past - or you are missing something :)

Very true. I can tell (due to condition they were recieved in and amount of dust) that if they were checked, it has not been in a very, very long time. Just through sorting I have seen some compound perfs and Shermacks so I am hoping for the best and that my eagle eyes don't fail me!
