Is anyone else getting frustrated by the announcement that two at least two of the upcoming new issues of US Stamps are being issued on a Sunday or Holiday?
First we have word that the Emancipation Proclamation Stamp is being issued on January 1, 2013 (New Year's Holiday).
Now we have this confirmation from the USPS that the 66-cent Spicebush Swallowtail Stamp will be issued on Sunday, January 27, 2013, the date of the postal rates increase:
http://about.usps.com/news/national...pr12_152.pdfThis effectively prevents anyone from purchasing the stamps on the first day of issue (unless you're at the FDOI ceremony) and obtaining postmarks from "unofficial" cities.
I wonder if this is to be a trend?
