Messing around with my scanner at 2400 dpi, I decided to check out the engraving on my 63

I think you'll find that was created on a lathe of sorts,
called an "Engine turner", or "Rose Engine" it was used to put filagree on stamps
from 1830.

Mike that's a real sharp scan and the stamp ain't bad either.

What make of scanner is it?

I only scan up to 1200 dpi, anything above that takes forever
and/or just freezes up.

My scanner will only go to 1200 x 1200 also need a new one

It's an Epson v30. It's a CCD scanner so it scans 3d objects. That's why you can see the raised ink really well.

Not a new scanner I think you can pick up the V300(same scanner but does slides) for 80 bucks or less

It took about 4 minutes to scan at 2400

Wow! That's a lot of dpi's right there! My scanner downstairs will do that but in my room it's only up too 1200. Awesome scan though!

I posted it before cause it's my nicest 1800s stamp but not in the high resolution. When I was messing with my scanner, it was the first stamp that came to mind
