The Personal Coin Gallery in the CCF section is very nice. It seems a shame that we have to put our stamp images on other image-hosting site. Looking at old threads, so many pictures have "disappeared" because the links to the image-hosting sites are no longer valid.

I sort of remember this being mentioned a couple of years ago when the "Supporter" icon started appearing, about plans to upgrade the buy/sell capabilities and also implement a personal collection gallery. I'm more interested in the latter.

What is the current status of any "Personal Stamp Gallery" implementation?

Just curious. Thanks for such a great site, and for any replies!

Hmmm, well I guess the lack of follow-up posts probably explains why there is still no personal stamp gallery section.

With so many forum members putting up pics of their stamps in thousands of different threads, I had thought there would be interest in uploading pics into a personal stamp gallery on SCF for each member and then linking it. The personal coin gallery looks really nice on the CCF side of this site.

Oh well...

I would be all for it. As you can see by my link below, I make good use of the CCF coin Gallery.

I think it was one of Steve's posts from awhile back that I first learned about the CCF Coin Gallery.

Can we flesh this out a bit?

What do you envision? A few choice specimens? Just a collected gallery of the images we've happened to upload for various and sundry threads? Or something more comprehensive?

I'm a firm believer in posting my images here, rather than linking, so that they are around as long as the forum is around. I'll trade maximum resolution for the long-term benefit of preserving the images with the information.

I appreciate the posters who link up 500kb scans, but there is something of a risk that those images won't be around for the long haul.

Enough of my ramblings. Your thoughts?

The idea of preserving images here in some way is a good one.

I also try to name my images uploaded to SCF by the
'Country Name - Year of Issue - Subject Matter - Extra Details'
kind of naming rule so anyone can find the image on Google and be linked back to SCF for more information.

For me on a slow computer and slow connection, seraching my SCF member image databas is very slow.
