I know I have been talking about my 300-400K hoard in all my posts but I finally got around to being able to take somewhat of a good picture. The sad part is this is only HALF!!

I really appreciate all the time the community has spent answering my questions... I am sure there will be more....

Wow! I think this might keep you out of the poolhall for quite some time to come! And good luck finding something nice!

Are you familiar with the movie 'Groundhog's Day'? The lead character lives the same day over and over and over again. I think you have the philatelic version of that movie ...

Thanks for the comments. I do hope to become proficient in the W/F's through this hoard to be able to one day give back to the site and community; for now its just sort and learn...

Here are a few off-papers from yesterday; no clue on the Sc #'s or if there is a rare one in here but eventually I will find out. Some nice horizontal coils, Shermacks, and imperfs.

Whoa! That's quite the pile you have there! I love these issues so I'm very excited to see a hoard like that! Good luck (you'll need it)and lots patience!

These are probably the most challenging stamps to both study and identify besides the early One Cent blue Franklins of 1852-1857! Just take it slow and and use those sites like http://www.1847usa.com/washfrankmain.htm and http://www.theswedishtiger.com/ID.html
You'll need a decent watermark detector, good quality magnifying glass like a jewelers loupe or equivalent.

Thanks, it is quite the pils but its been fun just sorting and finding the obvious anomolies (Shermacks and coils). Cant wait to dig into the detailed stuff. Since this has never been sorted I am sure there are some goodies in here. I bought a used Signascope which I am also still learning to optimize and I have a loupe on the way! Again, I appreciate all the support and I hope to one day give back what I have learned.

I have never even tried to sort the Washington & Franklin's I have... Maybe I should?? I just wish there was an easy way to tell them apart.
