I found this one while rearranging items in Grandma's collection. I thought the postage writing was interesting. In typical British efficiency, they break down the cost as 3 pence for Registration, three half-pence for postage, then show the grand total as 4 1/2. Also, love the excellent back description of the loss waiver. It looks like 3 pence was worth the extra cost.

Can someone give me the correct stamp reference? Thanks.

Postal stationery does not appear in Scott, and you need a special Gibbons to find it. These are quite common unless sent to, and backstamped at, an exotic location.

First port of call should be - who usually have this sort of info. Eunice and Ron regularly post here on SCF as well.

Incidently, the SS Berengaria had a great history.

Hi Partime,

An excellent catalogue for these is Collect British Postal Stationery by Alan Huggins and Colin Baker.

They list this envelope as RP39 which came in five different sizes and was first issued in 1923.

At the bottom of the box at the top left of the envelope is a large letter which is the code for the size although here it's mostly covered by the Registration label. I expect this is "F" which is the smallest size, 3¼" x 5¼".
