Ok, in my never-ending quest to learn, I would like an expert's opinion on this scott 479. It looks to me like the top and bottom perfs do not line up. I got this from a dealer that I consider very reputable, but he never mentioned a reperf. I got it for a very good price and thought it was a great deal, but in looking at it, I am not so sure now. Thanks in advance for looking.

The perfs almost certainly do not line up, nor should they. There are several threads on SCF regarding classic era perforating machines that are worth looking up. Perforating punches are set up to perforate multiple rows or columns at once and almost never start punching holes at the same exact point on the paper in each row or column. The result is what you see in your stamp ...
