It has been reported on other stamp websites that the USPS has ordered a reprint of the Four Flags Stamps. They all contain the same dates (2012) and specifications, but unlike the originals that had a plate number with the printer letter followed by five "1"'s, the reprinted stamps will carry a plate number with the printer letter followed by five 2's.

In visiting my local post office today, I was able to get a copy of the Sennett Booklet variety and have scanned below the noted differences I found. Of particular note is that (1) the reprinted stamp has die cuts that are slightly different; (2) the booklet itself is cut slightly longer and wider; and (3) in the case of my example, the stamps on the top row are considerably longer than those on the second row (especially noticeable when comparing the position of the date to the bottom die cut perforations):

Thanks for sharing this.
I hope they'll be available from SFS soon. If my memory serves me right, they have been quite good about offering reprints.

I guess this means there won't be a design change for the new prices. That's good; I like this design.

Not necessarily true. Rumor has it that later in 2013 the USPS will issue another series of flag stamps (depicting the US Flag in four seasons).

I haven't heard. But remember these Four Flags Stamps were issued in several formats, including Booklets of 20, Booklets of 10, ATM Booklets of 18 and Coils of 100.

So far, I've only heard about the Booklets of 20 being reprinted. Since the Booklets of 20 were printed by two printers -- Ashton Potter (APU) and Sennett Security Products (SSP) there are likely reprints of both out there.

In fact, the original printing was for 1 billion stamps (50 million bookets) from each printer; it has been suggested that the reprints are of the same quantity ... so they will hardly be "rare", just adding another variety to collect.
