I am interested in starting a coin/stamp show in Altus, Oklahoma. Just would like your thoughts on the subject. I am not a collector yet, but am interested in stamps and wondered if anyone might have some feedback on things like would the show work in Altus, maybe someone would like to help organize the show or suggest someone who has knowledge etc. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the stamp community, subman!

If you don't mind my asking, since you are not a dealer or a collector yet,
why would you want to get involved in organizing a stamp show?

I am trying to bring people into our community, give the people something new to experience, and hopefully learn something myself. I am working on other kinds of shows also in an effort to bring inetesting things to our small town (pop. 22,000).

Thanks for the welcome. subman

Welcome Subman, you have a large task ahead....i live in an area of similar size to yours and I have to travel 70 miles North to Albany or 70 miles south to White Plains to find any group of dealers congregated for a stamp show..white plain is a combined stamp/coin..the dealers need to know there is a sufficent collector base before they will risk setting up for a show...can I make a suggestion ? It might be more realistic to try and start a stamp or coin club in your area to bring people together !!
