POSTAL VANDALISM.

Today I received in the mail another damaged Stamp packet.
I had a prolonged experience of damage/thieving some years ago and it seems to have re-surfaced.
This time it is not quite the same.
I have received 5 packets in the past few weeks with the stamps on the cover missing. Two of them, including todays packet from Philb, had the stamps soaked off AND then hastily ripped from the envelope. Two holes remained in the envelope. The envelope had all the clear signs that it had gone through dampness. The stamps inside were stuck to the Booklet covers.
So it seems someone in the postal service in Israel collects used stamps but does not steal the contents. Maybe he/she does not even know that stamps were enclosed.
I will of course be taking this up with the post office and will be claiming compensation. I will go armed with all those recent damaged envelopes and contents.

Has anyone here had a similar experience ??
I would be interested to hear other [similar] stories.

Londonbus1.....Not a happy chappy

PS. Pic tomorrow I'm

Your neighbours aren't any better. I sent about 300 Lincoln Cents to a friend in Egypt and the whole package has gone missing.

Steve - Just my 300 cents worth.

Don't give up Philb.....and no need to dread !
All will be OK in the end.
I have gathered together all the evidence, sent a nice letter to Israel Post and will go personally to the sorting office when next in town.
This time, it will be me who is doing the sorting !

Sorry to hear about the theft of your stamps, Londonbus1.
Hopefully the post office will investigate and that will deter it.

I wonder if they disappear before they get to Israel? Are there any post marks on the letter? Does this only happen to letters going to Israel?

I'm glad the USPS only reads my magazines and don't lift the stamps.

This is the third time I've heard of stamps mailed to Israel arriving either water damaged or intentionally "fiddled with." That seems strange to me. In my two visits to Israel the postal people have always been absoltely professional and helpful when I mailed stuff back to the states. Of course, there's always one or two in every bunch . . . . .
