Okay guys, found this block this morning...

Am I correct in identifying it as a 554? OG all shiny and new on the back

Also, I have a quick question regarding how to label things....

Would this be considered a Plate Block of 10, or something else....I am trying to get sorted, and I'm not sure how to describe appropriately. I have read tons on the subject, but it's all a bit confusing. Right now I've been labeling with indicators like MNH, MH, MHH, MLH, and USED.

I want to get better at it, and I understand abbreviations, but I'm having trouble with knowing what is considered lightly hinged, or heavy, and so on....

Also, if I have a strip of three stamps perf. all around....do I call that a strip, or a block of three?

Eeeeek! It's so overwhelming.

Thanks again!

PS What do you guys think as far as value for this block?

The stamp is the rotary printing 634 from the experimental electric eye plates. The plate layout is shown below.

Your block comes from the first 2 stamps in rows 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 from one of the 2 right panes *shown in blue box( the plate block is shown in yellow box.

These are not of particukar value but they would be nice mounted next to the corresponting plate block.

Hope this helps.

Either that or add note about the electric eye.
